At the Circle

Students at the Women's Circle Knitting and Crochet class (pictured here with teachers Julia Gonzalez and Laurette Valcena) decided to give back this holiday season by donating their knitted goods to Project Holiday, a program which sends care packages to military personnel across the world.

The Women’s Circle runs a whole program of free classes in which students learn to speak English alongside other valuable job skills. This program includes classes in which students learn to knit and crochet while practicing conversational English. The students worked hard for months creating scarves, hats and leg warmers and hope that they will bring some comfort to soldiers away from home this holiday season.  “We just wanted to help out our soldiers overseas”, said Laurette Valcena, knitting teacher and Job Coach.
